Being Confident

Posted on October 11, 2011

Let’s face it, ladies. Most of us struggle with self-confidence. Especially when it comes to the man we love. If we’re not getting the response we desire from him, we’re likely to try to change something about ourselves to get that response.

Many of us have been trained to believe
there is something wrong with us.

The funny thing is, though, that when we try to tweak ourselves – in how we look or how we act – we are only increasing the likelihood that we will NEVER get the response we want.

Men respond best to a confident woman.

As Christians, we have the Greatest Source of Confidence within us – the Holy Spirit. We would do well to remember that, instead of tweaking ourselves again and again to please someone else.

Tim Timmons sings this truth so beautifully in Completely Yours:

Your love’s not based on how I sing
On how I dance
How high I spring
Your love’s not based on anything
But that I’m Your child

Your love’s not based on my good deeds
On my good looks
How smart I seem
Your love’s not based on anything
But that I’m Your child

Thank you, Father, Son,
Holy Spirit, One
For the work You’ve done in me
Because of Your great love
Unconditional
I know Who’s I am
I’m Yours
I’m completely Yours
I’m completely Yours
I’m completely Yours

Your love’s not based on my awards
On my mistakes
On goals I’ve scored
Your love’s not based on anything
But that I’m Your child

Thank you, Father, Son,
Holy Spirit, One
For the work You’ve done in me
Because of Your great love
Unconditional
I know Who’s I am
I’m Yours
Thank you, Father, Son,
Holy Spirit, One
For the work You’ve done in me
Because of Your great love
Unconditional
I know Who’s I am
I’m Yours
I’m completely Yours
I’m completely Yours
I’m completely Yours
