What would you give for a second chance
at one more day … at one last dance?
To make the dark shed some light
to change a wrong into a right?
To speak the words you long to say
and take back those you wish away.
To ignore all that is so insignificant
and live with a soul that’s truly repentant.
To dispose of guilt and ugly shame
and refuse to engage in useless blame.
To seek the truth and know justice prevails
and as long as you try you never fail.
To put God first and let him guide
trusting He is always right by your side.
And never waste another day
with regret and sadness in your way.
So say you’re sorry before it’s too late
and wipe away your vengeful slate.
Then try to imagine another chance
to savor the joy of life’s lovely dance.
