What woman doesn’t want to live out her favorite Fairy Tale? Here’s your chance to learn how to do just that in this all-day workshop presented by Dr. Debi Smith, Couples Psychologist and Expert in the Psychology of Men. Topics and details are listed below …
I haven’t laughed so much in a very long time! I truly loved the informality … and the casual yet informative setting which allowed for an easy exchange of questions and answers. … went by much too quickly and I am now looking forward to implementing the simple skills that Dr. Debi has shared with us. Here’s to kissing a frog! ~ Marilyn
Part 1. The Princess & the Frog
You have to kiss a lot of frogs
before your find your Handsome Prince.
The idea here is that, once you kiss the frog, he’ll turn into a Handsome Prince. But what if there’s a way to tell whether he’s a prince or just a frog before you kiss him? And what if he was a prince, but now he seems more like a frog? This class will help you quickly sort out the differences.
Part 2. Cinderella: Becoming a True Princess
So God created mankind in his own image,
in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them. ~ Genesis 1:27
What does it mean for a woman to be created in the image of God? How are we a unique expression of God’s creation? In what ways do we need to nurture and care for the God-given gift of femininity?
As women, we adapt so quickly to others, often at the risk of losing ourselves. This class will help you identify how and when you are most likely to give up on being “you” in order to please someone else (often a man). You will also learn how to nurture the various aspects of being truly feminine from a Christian perspective.
Part 3. The Knight in Shining Armor
Men are complicated. Women don’t understand how a man thinks, what he feels, and why he behaves the way he does. Men are complicated because there is no explanation for them … at least not one that he can offer. This class will explain the ways in which male development is so very different from female development, as well as help you make sense of why men are the way they are. (It’s good. Very good.)
Part 4. The Royal Ball
In the beginning, God created male and female in His Image. He intended for us to be different from one another … and to enjoy our differences! This class will help you understand how men and women are to be in relationship to one another, each with our own strengths and gifts, in the building of God’s Kingdom. As it turns out, this is a really fun way our very creative and loving God designed life to be.
Part 5. Enchanted
In the movie Enchanted, a classic Disney fairytale collides with modern-day New York City in a story about a fairytale princess who is sent to our world by an evil queen. Soon after her arrival, Princess Giselle begins to change her views on life and love after meeting a handsome lawyer. Can a storybook view of romance survive in the real world?
Like the movie, this class will help you identify the differences between fantasy and reality when it comes to romantic love. And, believe it or not, the reality of true love is always better than you could ever ask or imagine!
